Hi! We are taking our first trip to WDW in November. Traveling with 5 and 3 year old (who will be celebrating his birthday as well) boys. What would be your "Must see / must do" experiences or insider tips to make it an amazing trip for us? Thank

    Hi JoAnna,

Congratulations on your upcoming first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! You have come to the right place for planning this special vacation for your family. We love assisting Guests with Disney Parks questions and first visits are a personal favorite of mine.

I would recommend staying on property during your visit. Why stay at a Disney Resort Hotel? There are many benefits, including complimentary airport service on Disney's Magical Express, Extra Magic Hours, and Disney Dining Plans. I would also suggest making Advanced Dining Reservations for your table-service meals, especially a birthday dinner for your son. Walt Disney World Resort Guests may begin booking Advanced Dining Reservations 180 days in advance by going online here.

As a father of three children under the age of seven, I can tell you there is plenty to do for your boys in all four theme parks of the Walt Disney World Resort. I would highly suggest purchasing Magic Your Way Tickets with the Park Hopper Option, which allows your family to have the flexibility to visit multiple parks in one day. To me, it is ideal for families with young children. You can leave a park that may be crowded or simply head to another park for a change of scenery for the kids.

Another tip I would offer is to pick up free My First Visit buttons for everyone. Your son can also get a Birthday button to let everyone know it's his big day. You will have Cast Members welcoming you to Walt Disney World and wishing your son a "Happy Birthday" during your visit. You can get these at the front desk of your Resort or in the parks. We usually stop by City Hall in Magic Kingdom Park to get ours.

Regrettably, I am out of room for my answer. Please feel free to send me any follow-up questions as you continue planning your Walt Disney World vacation.

    Have a magical day,

    Bob A.
