Hello! We're taking our first trip to WDW this November. We're planning our stay using DVC points, and wondering which one of the resorts will offer the most convenience for a family traveling without a car? Thanks!

    Hello, Jennifer!

Wow! Your first vacation to Walt Disney World AND your first trip there using your Disney Vacation Club Membership! This is so exciting!

We rarely have a car when we head to WDW, so convenience is always a priority for us. Regarding just proximity to parks, I'll detail the benefits of each of the DVC properties.

At Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, you'll be an easy 5-10 minute walk to Magic Kingdom Park; you can also hop the monorail as well.

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa is located right across the water from Downtown Disney. Some villas (for example, those in Congress Park area) have a DD view and are just a 10-minute walk to that great shopping, dining and entertainment area. You can also take a bus or a boat to get there.

The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge are a short ride to Magic Kingdom Park, on either a boat or a bus.

Disney's Beach Club Villas and Disney's BoardWalk Villas are both located within walking distance to both Disney's Hollywood Studios as well as Epcot. (These resorts have walking paths to those parks, one of which leads to the "back door" entrance of Epcot, the International Gateway.) You can take a boat to these parks as well.

Disney's Old Key West Resort is located near Saratoga Springs, and can access Downtown Disney by bus or by boat.

Consider which parks you'll be frequenting the most and how much time you'll save by staying at one of the resorts which is closest.

Let me know about the interests in your party, ages, if you'll be on a Dining Plan, etc., and I can try to help you narrow down your choices.

No matter what, though, you're going to love your Disney Vacation Club Membership!  You'll never forget the first time you hear "Welcome Home!"
