Hi Kellie,
Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. Your vacation is coming up so soon - you must be getting so excited!
I am glad that you are thinking about the amount of walking that you will be doing on your Walt Disney World vacation. There is a lot of walking, and I definitely recommend bringing good walking shoes for everyone.
As to a stroller, it is a good idea to consider a stroller for younger children on a Walt Disney
World vacation even if they have outgrown a stroller at home. From my personal experience with my daughter, she quickly outgrew a stroller at home and pretty much never wanted to be in one once she could walk! However, because we knew how much walking there was at Walt Disney World, my husband and I taught her that she needed to ride in a stroller at Walt Disney World. For her, it was right around four or five years old when she outgrew the need for a stroller at Walt Disney World and was able to keep up with us walking. Based on this, I think that your eight-year-old will be fine without a stroller, but with your five-year-old, it is more of a judgment call based on your child. If you have a stroller that your five-year-old can still use and it is easy enough for you to travel with, I suggest that you bring it in case you find that you need it. If not, you can
rent a stroller at Walt Disney World.
I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Kellie! Have a great time planning your magical vacation, and please do let us know if you have any further questions.
