Hi Shannon:
My young kids love to spend time at Walt Disney World's playgrounds in-between rides, meals, and attractions. These play areas are open to older children, so as always, make sure to keep an active eye on your 8-month old.
In Magic Kingdom, there is a toddler-sized playground located near the entrance to Splash Mountain. While small in size, we enjoy this playground because it’s near restrooms and is a quick walk to the nearby Magic Kingdom railroad. After some play time in the playground, our family hops on the train for a loop around the park. There are also play areas on Tom Sawyer Island.
Remember to check out the playgrounds in the other parks, such as the 11,000-square-foot larger-than-life Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure play area at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and The Boneyard, a dinosaur-themed playground at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
