We are taking our first trip to Disney in Oct. I have heard about the "free dining" offer but I am not sure what it is exactly. I have viewed the site and know about all the dining plans but what exactly is considered "free dining"?

    Hi, Kimberly!

How exciting that you're planning your first Walt Disney World vacation! October is one of my favorite months to visit because of the Special Events going on like the Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! If you haven't done so already, be sure to order your Free Disney Parks Vacation Planning DVD so you can prepare your family for all the fun that's in store!

The Free Dining promotion that has been offered in the past has required that a minimum number of nights and a minimum number of base park tickets be purchased. For example, in 2012, most of the Free Dining offers had a requirement that a minimum 3 night stay and 2-day base ticket be purchased for yourself and each individual staying in the room with you. In 2012, if you stayed in a Deluxe Disney Resort, you received the Disney Dining Plan free for each member of your party. If you stayed at either a Moderate or Value Disney Resort, you received the Quick Service Dining Plan. Since this promotion has not been announced for 2013, we don't have any details yet. Earlier this week, I answered a similar question about Free Dining containing some additional links that you may find helpful as well.

Thanks for sending in your question and please write again if we can assist with anything else!

Wishing you Pixie Dusted vacation planning!
