We are taking our first trip to Disney in May. Our kids are 5, 3, and 1. I am trying to think of a really fun way to tell them. Does anyone have any fun ideas about how to tell the kids about the big trip?

    Hi Tara,

Oh, the possibilities!  What fun you are going to have surprising your little ones with your first trip to Walt Disney World!

Do your children like to receive mail?  Perhaps they could receive a special invitation from Mickey Mouse himself inviting them to come see him in Orlando.  Do they enjoy treasure hunts?  Maybe they would enjoy following clues through your home or backyard leading them to the big announcement.  Because your children are young, you should keep the clues simple.  For instance, the first clue might be "find your favorite stuffed animal."  Then the stuffed animal could have a note tucked in its paw containing the next clue.  There could be as many or as few clues as you like.  Or, perhaps you could make the announcement while dining out at a favorite restaurant.  Just ask the server to deliver a personalized dessert (a cupcake with Mickey ears, for instance) at the end of the meal with a special note. Or, ask the server to deliver Disney autograph books with pens to the children during their meal.  Whatever you decide to do, have your camcorder at the ready because I bet the big announcement will be met with much excitement!

    Have a magical vacation!
