We are taking our first family trip to Disney in a few weeks. We are planning on attending the Not so Scary Halloween Party. Any tips for surviving a long day at Disney with 4 under the age of 4?

Hello Jeannie, thanks for stopping by with your question.  I am so excited for you and your family.  The first family Walt Disney World vacation is very magical.

When my daughter was younger, we would take a midday break.  The parks can be really stimulating for children and a couple of hours back in the hotel room to rest can do wonders.  How we planned our day was to wake up early.  Staying on property, we utilized the morning Extra Magic Hours and were able to do our must do attractions before the parks got busy.  We'd typically have lunch in the parks and head back to the room around 1ish.  Sometimes we'd take a nap in the room or flip on the t.v while we freshened up and other times we swam in the pool.  It was wonderful for our family.  After a couple hour break we were ready to go back to the parks for the rest of the day.  Since the party festivities don't officially start until 7:00p.m. you could absolutely take a midday break and not feel like you are missing too much.  Plus, if everyone is rested up, you'll be able to enjoy the party later in the evening.  If you think going back to the hotel is not an option for your family, I absolutely recommend just relaxing for a little bit. One of my favorite spots to rest is inside of the Columbia Harbour House at Magic Kingdom.  It's a quick service restaurant that has plenty of seating, air conditioning and outlets around the wall where you can charge your phone.  There are several nooks in this restaurant which makes it a great place to hunker down for awhile with your kids.

I hope this helps!  If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and ask.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
