We are taking our first Disney trip in March 2012. I was looking for an online tool to help me plan our days. Any suggestions?

    Hi Becky!

I don't know of an online tool that will help you plan your day in general, but I do have several recommendations for you.

First I recommend visiting the independent website TouringPlans.com.  They are famous in the Disney fan community for producing a crowd calendar and touring plans.  Their crowd calendar will give you a good idea of what park to visit on which day if you want to avoid the predicted crowds at Walt Disney World.  Their recommendations are based on a lot of math and years of data collection.  I'm a huge fan of their work.

Second, while on the site, I recommend looking at their touring plans, which are step by step recommendations on touring the parks such that you minimize your wait in lines.  Like the general crowd level predictions, these recommendations are based on a lot of math.  I've actually done some testing of their plans in the past and if you want to "see a lot", they are definitely the way to go.

Third, I recommend using an Excel spreadsheet or a word processor to plan each day.  I don't recommend planning each minute of every day or even what order to see the attractions in (that's what the touring plans above do).  Instead, keep track of which parks have Extra Magic Hours when, what park you plan on visiting, and all of your Advanced Dining Reservations.  Be sure to include the confirmation numbers for dining.  You usually don't need it, but every once in a while Disney can't find a reservation.

I hope this helps!  Enjoy planning and write back if you have any more questions!
