Ahoy, Jennifer!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and to Disney Cruise Line! I love hearing this will be your first Disney cruise. I think a 4-night
Disney Wonder cruise from
New Orleans sounds awesome. Go figure I would say that-I'm planning the same voyage in February! Ready for beignets and then bon voyage!
Part of what makes Disney Cruise Line so outstanding is the quality of service. We have had servers, bartenders, youth counselors, and entertainment directors that we look for and even ask for on our subsequent cruises. Cool story-I even had the same wonderful massage therapist on two different ships and two completely different itineraries. Needless to say, I was thrilled to see her again!
One of the ways to thank the crew for excellent service is in the form of gratuities. Disney Cruise Line makes it easy to leave them for your stateroom host or hostess and your dining room team. The
suggested gratuities are outlined on the Disney Cruise Line website. Currently, for a 4-night cruise like yours, the recommendation per Guest is $18 for dining room server, $14 for assistant dining room server, $4 for dining room head server, and $18 for stateroom host/hostess.
The nice thing is that you can automatically have the suggested gratuity added to your onboard account prior to the end of your cruise. Then you will be given slips reflecting the gratuity amount to place in envelopes for each of these four Cast Members. We always choose to handle the tip this way and then add extra in cash for above and beyond service!
Cruise back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have additional questions. Wishing you and your family a WONDERful voyage!
Happy sailing!
Sherry
