    We’re taking our first Disney Cruise aboard the Dream in April. I’m worried about my 5 year old because she is very rooms to motion sickness. Many medications aren’t approved for kids her age. Any suggestions?

    I completely understand your concern about your little one experiencing motion sickness while on your Disney Cruise Line vacation. My youngest daughter is also prone to motion sickness, and we have to take preventative measures when we cruise.

    Some cruisers rely on motion sickness prevention medications, such as Dramamine or Bonine, (always remember to consult with your physician or pediatrician to see what they would recommend), and I've also had friends that have had great success with Sea Bands. Sea Bands are fitted bracelets that provide acupressure to key points on the wrist to combat nausea.

    One good thing about the Disney ships is that you really don't feel the movement of the ship in most areas onboard. Stateroom location can also help with motion sickness. You'll tend to feel less motion in staterooms located on lower floors, and toward the middle of the ship. Try to avoid an inside cabin - a view of the horizon can be really helpful when getting used to the movement of the ship!
