Hello, We are taking our first DC in March 2020. I booked our shore excursion through the Disney website for the dolphin encounter and saw after booking that the start time is about 15 mins before the time guests are allowed ashore. Is this a problem?

Ahoy, Kristen! A first time Disney cruiser? How awesome! You are definitely on the ball in getting all your activities and excursions set ahead of time-good job!

When it comes to cruise planning, one of my highest priorities is getting all my Port Adventures reserved. Disney Cruise Line offers so many exciting Port Adventures, so it's often hard to decide on just one. I've always been impressed how these adventures have allowed us to really absorb the culture, history, and essence of their various locations.

Don't worry, you won't be "late for a very important date" like the White Rabbit in "Alice in Wonderland." Since Disney Cruise Line's Port Adventures meet onboard the ship, that may explain why the start time listed for yours is 15 minutes before guests are allowed to disembark from the ship. When you book through Disney Cruise Line and not a third party tour operator, Disney knows that they can't start the adventures without the guests, even if your ship is arriving a few minutes later than expected. So rest assured, you can keep your Dolphin Encounter reservation and you won't be left behind!

On your first day, tickets for your Port Adventures will be placed in your stateroom. They will give you necessary information such as the time to arrive for the adventure as well as the onboard location where you'll check in. You can also see the particulars of your Port Adventure on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app; it can even send you a reminder so you are on time for your meeting time!

Thanks for cruising over to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Wishing you a magical and memorable vacation.

    SEA ya real soon!
