Welcome aboard, Mark! It's nice to answer a question from a fellow Ohioan about cruising with Disney! You must be looking forward to when Disney Cruise Line releases the first part of the 2018 itineraries. The prices tend to be best when they're first released, so keep an eye on Disney Cruise Line's website and also follow the Disney Parks Blog, as it's one of the first places that announces the new itineraries. I hope to see the first part of the 2018 itineraries released next month!
Disney Cruise Line truly offers
something for everyone! There are Youth Clubs for the kids up through age 17, and of course the 21 and older crowd has fabulous Adult Exclusive spaces throughout the ship as well. But for those in the 18 to 20 crowd, the
1820 Society is a really fun group! The first night onboard, they have a get together and then as a group they plan what other activities they'll have for the rest of the cruise. Last time I sailed, I noticed that their first gathering was called
Stir It, Blend It, Taste It. This was a complimentary tasting event which included coffee, chai lattes, and smoothies and was held in Cove Cafe. They created their own specialty beverages and then planned the rest of the activities for the sailing. Your 18 and 20 year-olds won't want to miss that first night so they can participate in the activity and chime in with what they'd like to do the rest of the cruise, as well as meet the others!
Disney Cruise Line does not have PhotoPass like the parks do, however they do offer photo packages through their
Photography Services, which can be either pre-purchased or purchased onboard. There are multiple options which include a photo cd to take home, and they also sell individual prints.
Have fun planning, Mark!
