    Hi Moms! We are taking our first cruise in September on the Fantasy! While in port would we be able to return to the ship after our port adventure and then get off again to go shopping near the pier? Thanks in advance!

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel - and thank you so much for logging in a question. My family and I were just onboard the Disney Fantasy a little over a week ago, so I'm still going through withdrawal symptoms :-). How exciting to hear that you've got a wonderful voyage to look forward to in September. You and your whole crew are in for such a treat!

    You are more than welcome to embark and disembark the ship while you are at port. Just pay attention to the 'All Aboard' time, and you should be just fine. There are port adventures that take you on a guided excursion for a couple of hours, and then they get you back to the ship early enough. You can choose to go back to your stateroom and rest, and later on exit the gangway again to do more shopping at the nearby shopping area. You'll need to remember to bring your Key to the World card and a valid photo ID.

    At the end of some excursions, you also have an option to be dropped off in the downtown shopping district, instead of at the ship's entry area. We did that for one of our excursions, so we were able to grab lunch at one of the local restaurants and we strolled along the pier for the rest of the afternoon. We walked an extra 15-20 minutes, but there was so much to see along the pier, that it didn't feel like a lengthy walk at all. In fact, it was pretty neat to snack on gelato on a bench overlooking the ship! :-)
