Hi Therese!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question! Congratulations on booking your first Disney Cruise! Reading your question brought back so many memories of when I brought my 6-month old son on his first Disney Cruise. Seeing pictures of him dressed as a pirate for Pirate Night still brings a smile to my face! I'm happy to share my experience with regard to the availability of infant amenities.
Disney Cruise Line makes
traveling with little ones so fun and easy. I'm a huge planner when it comes to cruising with my little pirate so I understand your concern. The number of infants on each cruise may vary. If there is something you know your little one must have, I would bring it from home just to have peace of mind that you won't be without it. With that being said, I have never had an issue borrowing any of the complimentary infant amenities. If you choose to borrow a stroller while onboard, I suggest heading over to Guest Services on the day of embarkation to request one. Once you board, your stateroom will be ready around 1:30 p.m. and your Stateroom Host or Hostess will stop by and introduce themselves. This is a great time to request any of the other infant amenities you might want to use throughout your cruise! For example, we love using a Diaper Genie in our stateroom!
One of my favorite events onboard that showcases the smallest cruisers is Jack-Jack's Diaper Dash! During this super fun event held in the Lobby Atrium, parents and caregivers cheer, yell and bribe their crawling babies to "race" across the finish line and win a prize! It's so much fun to watch and draws quite a big crowd! Keep an eye out for this event in your Personal Navigator newsletter!
I hope this helped you decide what to pack for your inaugural sailing with Captain Mickey!
