Ahoy, Scott!
I'm happy to hear you'll be making your first visit to the Caribbean with Disney Cruise Line. The ports are beautiful, with lots of fun
Port Adventures to choose from!
We cruised to the Caribbean last year, and I was surprised to discover at one port that the ocean bottom was a bit rocky. I'm from Alabama, and we're used to visiting the Gulf, with a smooth sandy bottom. While my kids had aqua shoes for our port visit, my husband and I did not. It wasn't so rocky that we couldn't enjoy the ocean, but aqua shoes would have been appreciated!
You won't need to worry about packing beach towels - Disney Cruise Line is happy to provide them to guests heading off the ship for splashtacular fun. You'll just need to bring them back to the ship and deposit them in the provided bins when your day in port comes to an end.
Make sure to pack plenty of sunscreen - but if you forget, or run low, no worries! Shipboard shops have plenty of fun-in-the-sun items (sunscreen included!) for sale.
I hope this helps with your planning! Please come back and visit if you have any more questions.
