We are taking a family trip in July with 2 and 2 yr olds, staying at the Port Orleans Riverside. How much time do I need to allow ourselves to get to each park? Especially for character breakfasts. Thanks so much for this help!

    Hi Cheri,

I think you're really going to like staying at Port Orleans Riverside!  It's got a smaller, quieter feel than some of the other Disney Resorts, but there is still plenty of Disney magic.

The time needed to get to each park will vary, since you're closer to some parks than others.  It will generally take about 30 minutes to get from your resort to a park.  A lot depends on how much time you spend waiting for a bus. Our family is famous for arriving at the bus stop just as the bus we want is pulling away.

For dining reservations, I like to give myself about an hour for travel time.  This usually factors in waiting for the bus, waiting in line to enter a park, and walking through the park to the restaurant.

There is a fun program on a website called Our Laughing Place.  You can enter your resort and where you want to travel.  It will give you the best transportation options and an approximate travel time.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!
