We're taking our 1st family trip to Disneyland. Since we're flying from Honolulu to LAX, do you recommend each of our kids (3yo and 7yo) bring their own luggage, or should a carry-on suffice? We'll be staying a week @ DLR...

Aloha Robyn and congrats on your first visit to Disneyland!

I was in your neck of the woods recently and had the pleasure of visiting Disney's Aulani Resort which was an experience too amazing to describe in words. You are so lucky to live in such a beautiful area!

I am mom to a 4 year-old princess and we usually only travel with a carry-on sized wheeled suitcase for her especially since the imposed baggage fees made their debut.  We purchased a hard-case Disney-themed suitcase from TJ Maxx and it has made many trips to Disneyland.  It is the perfect size for holding all of my daughter's outfits, underwear, socks, swimsuits, etc.  in addition to her suitcase, she also takes a backpack onboard which is great for storing stuffed animals, pool toys, books, etc.

I usually check one large suitcase for myself and I'm always sure to leave a little extra room in my luggage for extra things that may not quite fit in her carry-on such as shoes.

If you have any additional questions, please write back!  I am happy to assist in the planning of this magical Disneyland adventure!

    Best Wishes,

    Amanda F.
