We are taking a family trip to Disney World in June. There will be 6 adults, 4 toddlers ages 5, 3, 3, and 2 and a 6 month old baby. What would be the fastest and least stressful way to get from the Orlando airport to the Art of Animation resort?

    Hi Jim!

Thanks for bringing this question to planDisney! Big family trips to Disney World are just the best! So, let’s chat about how you can get to the fun as soon as possible.

As a mom of 3 young boys, the least stressful and quickest way I’ve found to get from the airport to my Disney World resort is to book a private transfer. You can search for private transfers by using your favorite search engine. There are quite a few great options!

These services pick you up immediately upon arrival and take you directly to your resort. Plus, some services will be able to accommodate your whole party in one vehicle and provide car seats for the little ones. Those would be two big priorities to keep an eye on when searching for a company that would work best for your family.

Another option would be to book a shuttle service, such as Mears Connect. This may potentially be a more affordable option. But I’d compare pricing while researching your options! With such a big group, there might not be too big a price difference between the shuttle and a private transfer.

As a heads up, our wait time to board the shuttle has varied in the past. Sometimes, we board as soon as we walk up, and other times, we’ve waited for quite a while to get onto our shuttle. It’s also good to note that the shuttle usually makes a few stops at different resorts. So, while you may get lucky being the first stop, you also may end up sitting on the shuttle for a longer period of time if Art of Animation is one of the last stops.

Overall, we’ve had a good experience with both modes of transportation to and from our resort. But if I had to choose based on the “fastest and least stressful” guidelines you gave, my personal preference would be to book a private transfer.

I hope that helps! And I hope you and your family make the best memories together at Disney World this summer! If you have any other questions as you continue to plan, feel free to come back and visit us.
