Hello Colleen! You’re going to make a real ‘splash’ visiting the water parks of the Walt Disney World Resort! They are a great way to cool off while still having a great time on your vacation!
With Florida being the Sunshine State, the water parks of the Walt Disney World Resort –
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park and
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park – are open throughout the year! In recent years the water parks have been alternating between one park being open for several months while the other park is closed for refurbishment. But one park is always open unless there is a “cold snap.” In that case the park is temporarily closed. However, this tends to only occur occasionally during the winter months. At the present time, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is open while Disney’s Blizzard Beach is undergoing refurbishment.
September can be a bit of a transition month between the water parks, but at the present time, I anticipate one of the water parks will be open in September. While crowd levels tend to subside in September, the Walt Disney World Resort is still visited by many Guests and it is still quite hot in Orlando in September. Guests certainly need a water park to enjoy!
You can check the Walt Disney World Resort website for information regarding which water park will be open in September. Operating hours for all Disney Parks, including the water parks, are posted on the website several months in advance. Once you arrive at the web page for Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon or Disney’s Blizzard Beach, click the calendar icon. You can then advance the months on the calendar to see operating dates/times for the parks!
Happy Planning!
