Taking the family for last minute trip to WDW Dec 7-11. Are there any "less-popular" restaurants that we can walk up to, or make reservations at the last minute? With a shorter trip I hate to pre-plan all of our time. Thanks!

    Hi there Robert!

I know what you mean about not making your reservations ahead of time. I have been on many short trips where I have just gone on a "wing and a prayer" without reservations! Honestly, that time of the year is one of the slower times so you may be able to walk into certain restaurants. The one thing you need to be aware of is that they are offering the Disney Dining Plan for free for certain packages purchased through Disney during that time, so restaurants may be a little busier than normal.

What I would do is try as many restaurants as possible and if you can, try to make reservations from your room the night before. The system has changed where all restaurant reservations have to be canceled by the night before or else there will be a fee charged. That means restaurants should have some availability the night before. Also remember to walk in and ask how long the wait is. We have been able to wait to be seated at most restaurants just like at any other restaurant back at home.

Thank you so much for your question! If you have more, we are always here to help!
