We will be taking our family of 4 (kids 6&8) to WDW for their 1st Disney trip in 3/15. We are thinking of staying at the AOA - can you recommend an itinerary to make their 1st trip a fabulous one?? Thanks for any helpful information.

    Hi Laurie,

You must be so excited to plan your upcoming March vacation to Walt Disney World! As soon as you arrive, you'll find that this magical place will become your home away from home.

In terms of a memorable first itinerary for your family of 4, I always advise parents to let their pirates and princesses join in on the planning. As parents, we want to make every adventure one-of-a-kind for our kids. Have your children decide what day of the vacation they'd like to dedicate to which theme park, and what attractions are appealing to them. The best part about having kids help with vacation planning is you really can't go wrong. Whether they decide to conquer all 3 "mountains" within Magic Kingdom, or make an itinerary where they meet as many Disney Characters as possible within Disney's Hollywood Studios, they'll create an ample amount of memories that they'll talk about for years.

As a starter, here are the most popular attractions within each theme park, if you would like to encourage your children to add these to their Walt Disney World adventure:
    • Magic Kingdom Park - Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Splash Mountain.
    • Disney's Hollywood Studios - Toy Story Mania, Star Tours - The Adventure Continues, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith.
    • Epcot - Test Track or Soarin'.
    • Disney's Animal Kingdom - Kilimanjaro Safaris, Dinosaur, Kali River Rapids, and Expedition Everest.

I hope this answer helps you, Laurie. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask us at any time.

    Have a fantastical Disney day!
