Hi Matthew,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am thrilled that you are using the
Disney Dining Plan. My family has used that plan on prior trips and it worked well for us.
Although you could use your snack credits for some breakfast items at the resort, we always take our own breakfast foods when on the Disney Dining Plan. We pack cereal bars or instant oatmeal and use our resort refillable mugs for coffee or juice. We then use our quick-service meals for lunch and table-service meals for dinner. And we use our snacks in the parks. Frozen lemonade and smoothies are our favorite treats!
So I would definitely just buy some cereal and milk if that is your typical breakfast. I packed individual cereal containers on one visit. When we were in a rush, we just grabbed them on the way out and ate the cereal dry.
Remember that your dining plan credits are per night of stay, so be sure to chart out your meals before you arrive. I do hope you have made
dining reservations. Restaurants fill quickly, especially for
character meals. Also, remember that many snack or dining locations will provide complimentary ice water in the parks. We always bring water bottles then use the complimentary ice water to refill our water bottles. We have tried using the refillable mugs as water bottles in the parks but they take up a lot of space and, in my experience, the lids do not always stay closed.
Matthew, I trust you will enjoy your dining plan! My family loves to try new dining experiences but also loves to return to some of our favorite restaurants on each trip!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
