Hello, we are taking a family Disney Cruise to Bahamas, I want to know if it is worth renting a cabana for our family, will we be able to enjoy it? and what is the temperature the first week in december 2011 Thanks.

    Hi, Mariann!

The Private Cabanas on Castaway Cay provide a great get-away for your family while on Disney's private island.  They come well stocked and with amenities which make it comfortable to spend all day in port at the beach. However, I've been to Castaway Cay several times with my family and have never missed not having one at our disposal.  Don't get me wrong...it would be nice to enjoy. Yet, I would rather spend that portion of my vacation budget on a Port Adventure or a spa experience.  That's just my personal preference.

As far as temperatures in the Bahamas during December, you can usually expect anywhere from low 70s F to low 80s, but you'll want to check in with our friends at Weather.com to be certain of your specific forecast before you sail...or maybe before you pack.  It's always a good idea to pack a rain jacket and a pair of long pants just in case.

I hope this all helps you plan and points you in the right direction. Let me know if you think of other questions I can answer for you. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
