    We are taking the Disney Dream 3 night cruise in October, can my 8 year old son wear dress shorts to dinner or must he wear pants?

    Hi, Rebekah!

    Disney Cruise Line requests that no shorts, jeans or t-shirts are worn in the restaurants at dinner each evening. However, for a child, they are not going to refuse service. One night will be cruise casual (as I just described); one night will be a pirate party (costumes and piratical accessories are encouraged); and one night will be a suggested "dress up" night.

    For my sons ranging in age from 7-16, I request that the older two always wear long pants and a collared shirt to dinner with the youngest one only on the dressy night. However, what usually happens is that they all end up with khaki pants on to dinner each night and change out their shirts. My 7-year-old follows the older one's lead.  I hope that helps you plan and pack!
