We will be taking a Disney cruise on Oct.18. This will be our first Disney cruise and the second for my son and his family. Would it be best for him to wait and do online check-in at the same time as us so we can all pick the same port arrival time?

    Ahoy, Gary!

Thanks for stopping by the Moms Panel with your question about Port Arrival Time. I'm happy to help!

Guests are asked to choose an estimated Port Arrival Time when they complete their Online Check-In. This system is in place so that Guests' arrivals are scheduled to be spread out over several hours on the morning of embarkation. It helps Guests have a smoother check-in experience, and shorter wait times.

My advice to you is to call your travel agent or Disney Cruise Line at 1-800-951-3532 to link your two reservations together. (Make sure to have your reservation numbers handy). Since your son will be able to choose a Port Arrival time at 90 days out, and you at 75, have him choose your first preference of arrival times. If the same arrival time is not available when you complete your Online Check-In, choose the closest time to his. When you arrive at the port, it should be fine for you to check in together.

Arrival times are typically spread from 10:00am through around 3:30pm in half hour increments. Actual boarding of the ship begins around 11:00am, or could begin as late as noon.

I hope this helps with your planning! I hope you and your family have a most magical Disney Cruise Line vacation. Please let us know if you have any further questions before you sail! - Diane W.
