Ahoy, Jennifer!
Welcome back to planDisney! It sounds like you’re in full Captain Minnie mode, making sure every detail is shipshape before setting sail—I love it! We went through the same thing when Disney was still sailing from Miami, wanting to batten down the hatches and keep our little sailors safe on the way to the terminal. So let’s set a course for some answers!
As you mentioned, booster seats and car seats are not required on Disney Cruise Line
ground transfers. These enchanted motorcoaches follow all local, state, and federal safety guidelines, so your little castaway can hop aboard without one. Now, when it comes to bringing a booster along, that’s where things get as tricky as Captain Jack escaping the Royal Navy! The answer depends on the type of booster and the driver’s discretion. Many of the motorcoaches don’t have seatbelts capable of securing the booster seat properly, so you’ll likely be asked to stow it in the luggage compartment below—just like Rapunzel’s satchel of dreams! If you do bring one, I recommend having a
luggage tag ready so you can stick it on and make sure it sails safely to your stateroom.
If
your little first mate is under 3 years old, here’s another important tidbit: motorcoaches don’t guarantee a dedicated seat for toddlers in this age group, so they may need to sit on your lap or snuggle up with another member of your crew if the shuttle is full.
No matter how you arrive, the moment you spot those iconic red funnels on the horizon (maybe even from your hotel room!), you’ll know the real adventure is about to begin. Wishing you smooth seas, magical memories, and just enough pixie dust to keep things sparkling!
Sea ya real soon with love in the air and magic everywhere,
Dustin
