Ahoy, Scott!
As a Gold Castaway Club member, I'm sure you're more than familiar with all the amazing fun waiting for you on your Disney Cruise Line vacation. It won't be long until July and you're once again sailing with Captain Mickey!
I can't even count the hours my family has spent enjoying the pools on the Disney ships. Most of our sailings have been on either the Disney Dream or the Disney Fantasy, which both feature the
AquaDuck water coaster. My whole family enjoys the AquaDuck, but especially my youngest child - she once rode it over 30 times on one cruise!
While the official Disney website only lists snorkel equipment and swim masks as restricted items to bring on the AquaDuck, guests are typically asked to leave cell phones, sunglasses (without a strap), hats, flip flops, etc. behind when they enjoy the slide. The rules about GoPros are always changing, so I wouldn't want to give you an answer that might change before your sail date. I do know that a guest wouldn't be allowed to hold any type of camera in their hand without it being secured to their body. Cast Members commonly screen guests at the slide entry for any items that need to be left on the pool deck.
My advice would be to bring your camera equipment, and check with the Pool Staff once onboard to see if you'll be able to film your exhilarating journey on the AquaDuck! As long as your sunglasses are secured with a strap, they should be ok to ride with, but again, it would be at the Cast Member's discretion.
I'm sure you're counting down the days until July, and moving one step closer to becoming a Platinum-Level Castaway Club member! Make sure to stop by the Future Cruise Sales Desk if you want to rebook your next sailing while you're onboard - you'll save 10% off your next cruise and receive a generous onboard credit!
Have a magical day! - Diane W.
