Hello, Adam!
Welcome aboard planDisney! You sound like an excellent captain and I'm glad you're taking the preparation for your adventure seriously. I'm happy to help you navigate the journey!
Guests who purchase
ground transportation between the Walt Disney World Resort or the Orlando International Airport and the cruise terminal at Port Canaveral ride in motorcoaches (with Disney touches!) that meet all state and Federal regulations for commercial vehicles. Currently, there are no requirements for seatbelts or car seats on the motorcoaches. So you're correct that you do not need to bring a car seat for your little sailor to use on the coach.
In fact, because there isn't a way to properly secure a car seat you would be asked to stow it in the luggage area under the motorcoach. You're welcome to bring a car seat for other parts of your vacation if you need to, though. You'll just put a luggage tag on the seat so that it will be delivered to your stateroom on the ship. I'd recommend storing the seat in your closet or under the bed if you decide to bring one.
A quick tip for sailing with kids: put your swimming suits in your carry-on bags! The
pools often open onboard before your luggage is delivered to your stateroom, so my kids like to change in the bathroom and start swimming as soon as they possibly can. Don't forget to keep your sunscreen with you, too!
I love using the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App to count the days until my next cruise...and it sounds like yours is very soon, Adam! I hope your adventure is everything you could wish for with your family. Happy sailing!
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
