I am taking a 7day cruise to Alaska. The app says there is a pirate night, but I've read comments it is replaced by a frozen deck party. Is there a way to know if there is a pirate night on my cruise so I can prepare accordingly?

    Ahoy, Giancarlo!

Welcome aboard planDisney! A 7-night Alaskan cruise on the Disney Wonder? Now that is what I call a cool vacation—literally and figuratively! I’m so excited for you and your crew to experience the majestic glaciers, charming ports, and all that unique Disney magic wrapped in flannel and fleece.

When it comes to themed nights, you’re not the only one double-checking your packing list and wondering if you should bring your swashbuckling best. Pirate Night is a beloved Disney cruise tradition—but on most Alaskan itineraries, it makes way for something a little... chillier.

Based on the current schedule for your sailing, it looks like you’ll “Let It Go” with Frozen-themed fun instead of hoisting the Jolly Roger. Here's how your evenings are currently shaping up:

Day 2 (At Sea): Get ready to dress to impress—it’s Formal Night! This is your golden hour moment to snap stunning photos in the Atrium, where professional photographers and themed backdrops make it feel like you’re walking the blue carpet at the Arendelle Royal Gala.

Day 3 (Stikine Icecap): Cue the snow flurries and bring on the sparkle! This is the big Frozen day. From themed crafts to meet-and-greets and capped off with the Freezing the Night Away with Anna, Elsa, and Friends deck party, this day is all about Olaf-approved fun. Don’t forget to check your Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for times and locations so you don’t miss a single snowflake of the magic.

Day 5 (Juneau): It’s time to glam up again for Semi-Formal Night! Whether you’re dressed like royalty or keeping it cruise casual, all outfits are welcome (unless you’re headed to Palo—that’s one place where dressing to impress is part of the fun).

Since entertainment offerings can change due to weather, logistics, or just a little pixie dust, I always recommend checking your Navigator app once you’re on board. That’s your go-to compass for all scheduled events, character appearances, and themed nights.

I hope this helps you feel more prepared to pack and plan for the magic ahead. And here’s a little bonus tip: if you're sailing with young ones—or just young at heart—consider bringing some Frozen-inspired outfits or accessories for that themed day. You’d be surprised how much fun it is to sing along in your snowflakes and sparkle!

Sea ya real soon with a June full of sun, sea, and shipshape adventures,
    Dustin
