We are taking a 5 day Bahamas cruise on the Fantasy in May and wondered if there is a formal night included?

Greetings, Graham, and welcome to planDisney! Five nights aboard the Disney Fantasy as it sails through the Bahamas – that sounds like such a treat! I'm happy to share some information that can help you sort your packing list.

Yes, the 5-night Bahamian cruises for May 2026 aboard the Disney Fantasy appear to include an optional dress-up night as well as a Pirate Night. For sailings that depart May 1, 15, or 29, the dress-up night is scheduled for Day 2, and Pirate Night is scheduled for Day 4. For sailings that depart May 10 or 24, Pirate Night is scheduled for Day 3, and the dress-up night is scheduled for Day 4. Just keep in mind that these schedules are subject to change – you'll be able to confirm in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App once you board the ship.

For dress-up night, the guidelines suggest a jacket for men and a dress or pantsuit for women. This is optional, so you can also continue dressing cruise casual if you prefer. For Pirate Night, I've seen a little bit of everything. Some Guests go all-out in full pirate costumes. Some wear themed shirts and hats, while others keep it simple with a bandana. There are Guests who choose to stay in their cruise casual attire, too.

And just in case you were asking about the 4-Night Bahamian Cruise on the Disney Fantasy, Graham, I'm happy to report that these itineraries in May 2026 also include an optional dress-up night (Day 2) and Pirate Night (Day 3).

There will be so much for you to enjoy while on the Disney Fantasy. The Walt Disney Theatre will host amazing Broadway-style entertainment. I adored "Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular" – the special effects, recognizable songs, and talented cast came together for an amazing performance. The entertainment, in my opinion, is one of the things that sets Disney Cruise Line apart. Get there a little early to purchase popcorn to enjoy during the show.

As you are packing, don't forget a swimsuit! The Quiet Cove Pool is a great adults-only oasis for lounging in the water with a view. It was one of my favorite places to go when my kids were at the Youth Clubs. And the AquaDuck is a "water coaster" experience that you definitely shouldn't miss.

Graham, I hope you have a wonderful time aboard the Disney Fantasy in May. If you think of any other questions between now and embarkation day, please reach out – we're always happy to help here at planDisney!

    Wishing you magic,
