We are taking our 2 daughters (ages 3 and 4) to WDW in April. We are booked at CBR but are seriously considering upgrading to WL. What is your opinion on the better place for our family to stay?

Hi Debbie!  Anytime you upgrade your resort reservation from a moderate to a deluxe you will gain many amenities that are offered only in that price range.  The deluxe generally are also closer to a park or parks making their location quite tempting.

The Wilderness Lodge is a beautiful resort with an air of peacefulness the minute you step into its grand lobby.  It is truly a scene out of the lodges of our great National parks!  This resort appeals to many for this feeling since families enjoy coming back from the busy parks to a more calming atmosphere.

The resort is located on Bay Lake which is a water wonderland.  You can rent small sea raycers to enjoy on both that lake and also the Seven Seas Lagoon so you are entertained for hours just on the water.  You can walk or take a short boat ride over to Fort Wilderness where the girls can get a pony ride and visit the Disney stables where the Magic Kingdom and Cinderella's horses live.  There are also two great dinner shows located there,,,,Hoop De Doo and Mickey's Backyard Barbecue.

The rooms have a rustic feel but very comfortable with all the great deluxe resort amenities.  A wonderful spa is located among the Wilderness Lodge villas making that tempting for any parent!  Whispering Canyon and Artist Point are two great restaurants located right in the resort making dining as easy as a few steps away!

The Magic Kingdom is just a few minute boat ride and its fun sometimes to ride the boat to the Contemporary and then hop on the monorail to visit the other resorts in that area or take a ride to EPCOT.

If your budget allows I say try the Wilderness Lodge!
