We will be taking our daughter to WDW in May.This trip is for her 6th birthday and it's her 1st visit.Want to maximize character dining experiences but not overdo so she will have time for everything else! Please help!!

Hi Denise! Dining with the characters is so much fun, and there are so many meals to choose from.

I recommend choosing your meals so that you can meet and greet with a wide variety of characters. I would definitely schedule a meal at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary resort. They serve both breakfast and dinner with characters like Mickey (of course!), Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Donald.

I also highly recommend the Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom. This restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with the Pooh characters. In the interest of maximizing park time, try to get one of the very first breakfast reservations of the day. You will be able to enter the park before it opens, and if timed just right, you can finish your meal and be ready to go by the time the park opens!

With a 6 year old daughter, I would absolutely do a princess meal at either Cinderella's Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom or Akershus at Epcot. This will give your daughter an opportunity to meet many of the princesses and both of these meals include a photo package with the price. The photos make a nice keepsake to remember her special birthday trip.

Those would be my three top choices for character meals. That said, I wouldn't hesitate to add more if your schedule allows. If your daughter is a fan of Lilo & Stitch, you could do breakfast with them at the Polynesian resort. Chip and Dale can be found at the Garden Grill in Epcot for a family style dinner. There are a wide variety of meals to choose from depending on which characters you would most like to meet!

I hope that your daughter has a magical trip. Be sure to get her  "1st Visit" and "Happy Birthday" pins so that everyone will know she is celebrating!
