I am taking my daughter to WDW for her 5th birthday. It is still a surprise. I am wondering what tips and suggestions everyone has for a first time/birthday visit! I've been told the autograph books and lanyards with pins are a big deal there.

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Brandy!

Disney is the perfect place to celebrate a 5th birthday! If you're staying at a Disney Resort, be sure to pick up a "Happy Birthday" and "1st Visit" buttons for her. You can also pick them up at any Guest Relations location in any of the parks.

Here are some suggestions to make her birthday extra special:

    * Plan a visit to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
    * Buy her an autograph book that holds pictures and autographs. They sell them in the parks or you can order one in advance at
    * For a special gift or in-room celebration, contact the Disney Floral & Gifts Department. Visit them online at or call them at 407-WDW-GIFT.

To celebrate as a family, plan a special birthday meal at:
    * Be Our Guest Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom
    * Cinderella's Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom
    * Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner at 1900 Park Fare
    * Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway Pavilion at Epcot
    * 'Ohana at the Polynesian Resort
    * Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort

Call 407-WDW-DINE for reservations. You can top off your meal with a speciality cake by calling 407-827-2253. Advanced Dining Reservations & 48 hours notice is required.

Be sure to check out some pre-trip birthday ideas for Little Princesses from our Moms Panel family.

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
