I am taking my daughter and two other friends to Disney for the first time. Her plans for her sweet 16 fell through so I thought of Disney. I am a single mom and we will be there for three days. are there teen friendly hotels and activities? TRIP IN TWO

    Hi Casetta,

Walt Disney World is a great place to celebrate a sweet 16th birthday for your princess. First of all, make arrangements with the Disney Dream Makers to have a Disney themed birthday gift delivered to her during your day at the park or have it waiting in the hotel room during your stay. The Disney Floral and Gifts delivers floral arrangements, gift baskets, balloons etc. They literally will make your dream come true while being as elaborate or as modest as you desire. The phone number is 407-827-3505. As far as hotel, I would suggest Disneys Pop Century. This is a value resort hotel that is themed with larger than life nostalgic items like a a giant Big Wheel and an oversized Mr. Potato Head. The photo ops are great here and this hotel will be easy on the pocket. These accommodations are just fine for a short stay for 4 adults. Since it is your first visit, start your park visits with the Magic Kingdom where you can become that star gazing child again as you walk down Main Street U.S.A. toward the iconic Cinderella's Castle. Your teenagers will certainly enjoy Disney's Hollywood Studios. This theme park has attractions based on movies and television. My teenagers spent the most time at this park, because they loved the thrill rides like The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and  Rockin Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith. Make sure you check the schedule so that you end the day at Fantasmic!, the evening spectacular of music, fireworks, water screens, and the star Mickey Mouse. A dinner package that includes reserved seating for the show is highly recommended, but may be difficult to secure so close to travel time. I could go on and on, but I hope this gives you somewhere to start. Three days will seem short, just focus on what the birthday girl really wants to do and save the rest for another visit.
