Hello, I am taking my daughter, and step daughter to DW for their birthdays. They are 1 day and 1 year apart. Ages are 8 and 9. They think we are going to Tx to some farm, any ideas on when I should tell them, or any good surprises for the big day(s).

    Hi Nicki!

That sounds like a wonderful surprise!  If you are flying, I recommend not telling them until you get to your airport.  They'll probably figure it out by the time you board the plane, but maybe you can even keep it a secret until you land in Florida!

I recommend making a Character Dining Experience Advanced Dining Reservation (ADR) for their first night at Walt Disney World.  Favorites include Cinderella's Royal Table inside Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom, Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus in the Norway Pavilion of Epcot, and Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian.  Of the three, I personally recommend going to Epcot, but I have to admit there's nothing quite as magical as dining inside Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom.  If the children are more into classic Disney characters than princesses, then I recommend making a reservation at Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary Resort.

Another option is making a reservation for them at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.  There they can be transformed into little princesses.  There's a location in the Magic Kingdom and at Downtown Disney.  Downtown Disney might work particularly well if you want to do it on your first day, but you don't have a park ticket for the first day!

Enjoy planning your wonderful surprise and have a magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
