Hello, we are taking our 15 yo, daughter for a quick trip, she has never been. Looking for recommendations on a place to have a nice dinner our first night. Staying at the Saratoga Resort but we are happy to venture somewhere else. Any thoughts?

Bonjour, Lisa and bienvenue à (or welcome to) planDisney, where the only thing we love more than talking about the dining options around the Walt Disney World Resort is, well... eating!

Lisa, Chef Remy said, "good food is like music you can taste, color you can smell. There is excellence all around you." While this rat lived in Paris, I like to imagine he was also talking about the Walt Disney World Resort as there is deliciousness to be found everywhere you look! So, let's talk dining!

First, since you're staying at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, you are literally adjacent to a plethora of options at Disney Springs and if you'd like to stay close to your "home away from home," I recommend checking out the menus at Wine Bar George- A Restaurant & Bar, Paddlefish, The Edison, and Maria & Enzo's Ristorante. Each with its own unique atmosphere, these all offer an upscale but comfortable setting to savor that first night of vacation.

If you're interested in checking out a different Disney Resort Hotel while enjoying dinner, I have three favorite restaurants that might just fit as perfectly as Remy's chef's hat.

The first can be found at Disney's Contemporary Resort: California Grill. With views of Magic Kingdom Park and my favorite sushi, this restaurant is always on our list for each and every trip. The second is at the newest Disney Vacation Club Resort, Disney's Riviera Resort: Topolino's Terrace- Flavors of the Riviera. Here you can watch the Disney Skyliner transporting guests while experiencing European cuisine at its best. Finally, if your daughter loves animals, there is no better place to dine than Sanaa at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas- Kidani Village. You can marvel at the giraffes on the savanna while experimenting with new flavors. Lisa, if you choose this restaurant, I highly recommend the Indian-style Bread Service. It's always a hit with my family!

Lisa, I hope this helps as you're putting the final touches on your Disney plans. If you find a restaurant that interests you, I highly encourage advanced dining reservations to secure your table.

Best wishes for a trip that is as delicious as Remy's Ratatouille. Please come on back and see us here at planDisney with any other questions you might have. While we live to eat, we love to serve.

    Bon Appetit!
