We're taking our daughter for her first birthday in September! We're trying to book with our annual pass discount, but they haven't been released yet for that time! What discounts do they normally give and when do they typically come out?

    Hi Chelsea!

Is it misty in here or, is it just me? Thinking about celebrating a First Birthday at the Walt Disney World Resort gets me a little choked up. There is something so special about seeing Walt Disney World through the eyes of a child. I can’t think of a better place to celebrate your daughter’s extraordinary first birthday!

Having an Annual Pass does have some spectacular perks! When visiting the Theme Parks, you can take advantage of free standard parking! You can save on dining at select locations as well as discounts on merchandise at select locations. One of my favorite perks is that you also receive Disney PhotoPass downloads. That means plenty of opportunities to capture all those magical moments celebrating your daughter.

As you already know, Annual Passholders also have access to exclusive discounts at select Disney Resort Hotels. In my experience, discounted rates at Resort Hotels are typically released 2-4 months in advance. I have seen discounted prices from 10% to even 30% off regular room rates. While there is no guarantee that these rates will be available, I sure hope that you will be able to take advantage of special rates this September.

A little planning can make this trip easier on your family. Don’t forget to take full advantage of FastPass+. This service will allow you to plan out a return time to three of your favorite attractions. Since you are planning to stay at Walt Disney World Resort, you will be able to start booking your FastPass+ reservations beginning 60 days in advance of your stay for the length of your stay. Baby Care Centers offer a place to change your daughter, feed her, and take a relaxing break from the Theme Parks. There is a center in each of the four Theme Parks. I highly recommend making your Dining Reservations starting 180 days prior to your arrival date. One of my favorite Character Breakfast locations is at Tusker House Restaurant, and I think this would be the perfect place to celebrate! Make sure to note on your reservation or tell your server that you are celebrating an extra special birthday!

I hope that you and your family have the most magical time! Wishing your daughter the best first birthday!
