We are taking our daughter to Disney for her 16th birthday on December 16th, 2021. Is there any way to get dining reservations if all are full?

Hello Fae! Happy “sweet 16” to your Disney princess! The gift of Disney is one of the best gifts that a person can receive! Your daughter is going to love her birthday visit! Let’s see what we can do about possibly getting you into a restaurant for your daughter’s special day!

There are a few tips that I can offer when it appears that just about every Walt Disney World Resort dining location is booked! Tip #1 - don’t give up! Guests change their plans all of the time. That means that they also cancel dining reservations. Check the My Disney Experience app frequently for reservations that may have become available. Tip #2 - use the “Join Walk-Up List” option on the My Disney Experience app! When you enter the name of a particular restaurant in the app’s search bar, you’ll see the restaurant appear on the app. Some restaurants offer a “Join Walk-Up List” option. The only trick here is that you need to be within proximity of the restaurant, otherwise, you’ll receive a message stating, “You’re Too Far Away - Please move closer to the restaurant and try again.” Finally, Tip #3 also involves using the My Disney Experience app. In the search bar enter “Make Dining Reservations.” You’ll then be prompted to enter your party size. You’ll then be prompted to enter the date of your visit. Finally, you’ll be asked to “Search by Time.” Once you enter all of that information a list of all available dining locations matching your criteria will appear. For example, I just entered a search for party of three for dinner on December 16th. I see several great restaurants including Cape May Cafe, Ale & Compass Restaurant, City Works Eatery & Pour House, Kona Cafe, and many more with availability!

Fae, I sure hope that these tips are helpful to you as you continue planning your daughter’s special birthday visit! Don’t forget to request a complimentary birthday button for your daughter to wear during her visit! You can request a button at Guest Relations in the Disney Parks or from the front desk of your Disney Resort Hotel!
