Taking my daughter for her 3rd Birthday. We are having dinner at Chef Mickey's. How are custom cakes are the any good and are the worth the $$$.

    Hi Jasmine,

I really like the custom cakes that you can order at Walt Disney World restaurants.  The tiny ones that you can request when you arrive are good too - although they are made in huge quantities.  Sometimes they're fresher than other times.  The most common custom cake is a head of Mickey Mouse.  It's cute, tastes great, and is a special treat.  It also feeds a large group of people, so if you have a smaller group you can plan on taking home leftovers.  If you can dream it, Disney bakers can create it.  They can get a little expensive, but as a special surprise, I think it's worth the cost.

Then again, if you are planning on dining at Chef Mickey's on your daughter's birthday, she will be given a complimentary cupcake.  At three years old, that can be just as special.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
