That will be an awesome Alaskan voyage that everyone will surely enjoy, Amanda!
I remember my family being mesmerized by the beautiful landscape every single time we would step out into our balcony or whenever we would be out on the decks. The scenery in Alaska is peacefully breath taking! It's definitely a different cruise compared to all the other voyages that sail around the world.
There's plenty of outdoor activities on the Alaskan port adventures list that I'm sure your kids will enjoy. My kids really enjoyed the
Best of Juneau port excursion that we did several years ago. It combined site seeing, up-close sea-life watching and a yummy salmon bake lunch. We got to see glaciers along the way, and lots of sea faring friends. A few whales were out and about and we enjoyed getting really close to them. It seemed like they knew we were watching, and they put on a great show for us. There were sea lions, dolphins and bald eagles too. All the naturalists on our tour were very knowledgeable and the kids enjoyed learning about the habitat that these animals lived in. We had a tasty lunch included in the tour and the catamaran ride was very mild and relaxing. We also got to visit Mendenhall Glacier and the kids enjoyed the hands on activities there.
If it's a wild activity you're looking for, I'm sure that
Dog Sledding will be right up your alley. Hold on tight and be prepared to take lots of photos on this wild adventure. We also enjoyed riding a float plane seeing the misty Fjords, if you'd like to check that out as another excursion.
I hope this information helps, Amanda!
Happy planning!
