Ahoy there, Janet. Thanks for sailing by planDisney with your question!
Based on your information, you may already be enjoying the open sea air with Captain Mickey and his crew. I figured this would be faster than sending a message in a bottle, so let's get to it!
My first sailing on
Disney Cruise Line was in and out of the
Port of San Diego on the
Disney Wonder, so I've got a soft spot for your question. With so much to see and do in San Diego, I understand wanting to explore the city without carrying your luggage around. Unfortunately, the Port of San Diego does not have luggage lockers, but I have some suggestions.
There are luggage storage companies, like Bounce Luggage Storage, to store your luggage throughout the San Diego area and, most importantly, near the Port of San Diego and San Diego International Airport. You will want to contact them directly for pricing and availability. I found several such companies with a quick Google search.
If that won't work for you, and if you will be flying the same day as you disembark, you might take a 10-minute car ride to the San Diego International Airport from the cruise terminal to check your luggage with your airline. You will want to check your airline's policy directly to allow you to check your luggage well before your flight.
Janet, if neither of those options strikes your fancy, you could also check with one of the hotels close to the cruise terminal to see if they will store your bags at bell check. There are several hotels within walking distance from where you will disembark. If you choose this option, I recommend calling ahead so you don't lug your bags all over town.
I hope that one of these ideas works for you. Have a most magical trip, Janet. Please visit again soon!
