First, I recommend
letting Disney Cruise Line know about your nephew's birthday so the Crew can share in your joy. Locate your reservation and select Special Requests > Celebrations to note your special occasion. Letting your dining room servers know which night you’d like to celebrate is also a good idea. They will go out of their way to ensure his day is extra magical. Be sure to stop by Guest Services to pick up a "Happy Birthday" button that can be worn throughout the entire cruise. The Crew, other Guests, and even the Disney Characters will notice the button and share their good wishes with him.
For an extra special surprise, browse the
Onboard Gifts offered on your sailing. There are cakes, cupcakes, and various gifts from which to choose. My sister ordered the Celebrate Today Birthday Décor package for my son. His eyes lit up when he entered the stateroom to find it decorated for his birthday. Alternatively, you could bring a couple of magnets and a birthday banner to put on his stateroom door to mark the occasion.
Something else I like to do is bring small gifts from home and pixie dust the birthday Guest. Each night I set out a small surprise. It doesn’t have to be expensive. For my son, I’ve given him sand toys, action figures, coloring books, and candy. Don’t forget that a trip to the gift shop is always an excellent idea for a unique souvenir.
Finally, depending on your sailing, you could book a trip to the
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. There is a Royal Knight and Captain Mickey Package. Both include a costume and hairstyling. On select sailings, the Boutique transforms into the Pirates League, where stowaways can channel their inner outlaw. You’ll be able to see what’s available when your booking window opens.
