Taking our 1st cruise ever & chose DIsney! We have a 4 and 8 yr old. Any tips on what to do or not to do? Specifically I don't trust leaving them with strangers at the different kids activities so is there plenty to do as a whole family?

Congratulations on your upcoming first cruise! The Disney Cruise Line is an excellent choice for your first sailing!

Aboard a Disney ship, you'll find plenty of activities for the whole family! There will be pool activities, contests, crafts, dance parties and more.

While I understand your reluctance to leave your children with strangers, I do encourage you to visit the clubs designed for children and let your kids play even if you stay to supervise. The areas designed specifically for kids are filled with memorable experiences such as dancing with characters and making Flubber. Do not hesitate to speak to the Cast Members that work in the Oceaneer Club and Lab. The Youth Activities Manager can answer any of your questions. The areas are very secure and the counselors are well-trained in child psychology and education.

Of course, if you still don't feel comfortable leaving your children, feel free to stay and watch them enjoy some activities. Then as a family, you can go see a movie at the theater or relax in your cabin with a movie and room service snacks.

Throughout the day and evening, there will be character meet and greet opportunities, sports activities and other activities designed for the entire family. If you look in your Navigator (cruise entertainment schedule), just peruse the Family activities for all kinds of available entertainment for your crew to enjoy together!

The only activity that I can think of recommending to skip is bingo due to its extra cost!
