Hi Kirsten, and welcome to planDisney!
My heart sank reading your question. It’s no fun to break not-magical news to your kiddos – we had to cancel a couple of visits in 2020 and the disappointment (for me too!) was real. Let’s see what we can do to plan some Walt Disney World Resort magic for your family this spring break.
The
Disney Park Pass System is a live system, meaning that people are cancelling and rescheduling all the time. While there isn’t currently a waitlist or cancellation list, you’re welcome to keep checking the
Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar to see what might pop up.
When I look at your dates, I see that April 2, 3, and 4 currently have availability for an
EPCOT visit. (Note that you may see different availability at the time you log in.) I know you’re looking for Magic Kingdom Park specifically, but hear me out. If you purchase Park Hopper tickets, you could begin your day enjoying EPCOT, and then, when Park Hopper hours begin (currently at 2:00 pm., but that is subject to change), you
may have the option to head to Magic Kingdom Park. I say “may,” because Park Hopper is pending availability – it’s spring break, so it’s possible Magic Kingdom Park still won’t be available. There’s just no predicting that, unfortunately, and if you go with this plan, I don’t want to mislead you about your options.
How does Park Hopper work? When you buy a theme park ticket with this option included, you have the option to “hop” to another theme park once park hopper hours begin. You must have a Disney Park Pass reservation for your first park of the day (in this example, EPCOT), and you also must enter that park. You’ll check the
Park Hours to see when Park Hopper Hours begin for the day. When that time arrives, check your
My Disney Experience mobile app to see if any of the theme parks are at capacity – and as long as they’re not, you can head to that theme park.
This is my favorite time of year to visit EPCOT. The Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival offers so many fun experiences and delicious food and drink. My family loves to wander the World Showcase and explore the different countries represented there. Plus, attractions like Test Track, Frozen Ever After, and
Soarin’ Around the World are some of the best in any theme park. The Sea Base, found at the exit of The Seas With Nemo and Friends (also home to the cutest theme song ever), is a giant aquarium that is home to over 4,000 creatures. There’s truly so much to see and do at EPCOT, so much so that my daughter considers it her favorite theme park!
I hope this helps, Kirsten. Please keep checking Disney Park Pass availability, and I’m crossing my fingers and toes that this works out for you. If you have any more questions as you look forward to your visit to Orlando and the Walt Disney World Resort, please come back and see us. May your dreams come true!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
