We are taking our children to Disney for the first time in October. We have purchased the the dining program and I have been making our reservations. My question is do I have to make reservations for lunch?

    Hi Angelica,

Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. How exciting to be planning your first trip to Walt Disney World! I am glad that you are planning ahead for your dining. This will ensure that you get to eat where you want to when you want to.

I suggest that you make reservations for any table service meal that you are planning to have, whether it be for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Some of the dining locations are popular earlier in the day, so I always find it better safe than sorry; therefore, I make reservations no matter the time of day.

How many of each dining entitlement you have per night of your stay will depend on which Disney Dining Plan you purchased. For example, if you have the regular Disney Dining Plan, you will receive one quick-service, one table-service, and two snack entitlements per person per night of your vacation; however, you can use these at any time during your vacation that you like. This could mean two table-service meals on one day, in which case I advise yes, make reservations for both. If you are on the Deluxe Dining Plan which includes multiple meal entitlements per night, I do again suggest making reservations for any table-service restaurants.

If you are thinking that each day your lunch will be a quick-service establishment, then you do not need to, and in fact cannot, make reservations at these locations. The only quick-service location for which you can make reservations is Be Our Guest Restaurant at Magic Kingdom. If you are interested in dining there, I do recommend that you make a reservation.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Angelica! Please do let us know if you have any further questions.
