Ahoy there, Erin! Thank you for sailing by planDisney! I hope you and your family are getting excited to travel to the Caribbean on Disney Cruise Line.
Travel documentation is required for all Guests, no matter his or her age. A valid US passport or original state-issued birth certificate is required of US Citizens. Guests at least 16 years of age will also need a government-issued photo ID if presenting an original state-issued birth certificate.
No additional documentation other than citizenship documentation is needed if you are their parent or legal guardian, even if your last names are different. Some Guests bring marriage certificates or other legal documents for peace of mind, but it's not required since you are their parent.
Erin, I'm not sure how old your kids are, but I hope they will get a chance to experience the
youth activity spaces. From 6 month olds to 17 year olds, the youth counselors are ready to make young Guests' cruise extra special. There are Open House times starting on embarkation day where you can visit the spaces with the kids. I found this very helpful when my son was younger. We walked him through the area so he could get familiar with it. Now, he doesn't want me anywhere near
Edge, the preteen area, no matter how hard I try to walk him there the first day.
If you have any other questions, come back to visit my
planDisney friends and me. We are here to help you plan your magical Disney vacation.
Adventure is out there!
