    We are taking our boys (8 years old, and twins that are 6) to Disney next April. I would like them to carry some of their own stuff in a backpack - will that work or can you suggest something that will?

    Hi, Gina!    If you are going to have your boys carry some of their own things into the parks, I would suggest a "fanny pack" type of bag.   This will be lighter than a backpack and they can keep it on as they get on and off attractions.   Just snap it around their waist and they should be good!   They are much more likely to slip their backpack off and forget it on an attraction or at a restaurant.

    That said, think about if they will really carry their own bag around all day.   I know even my husband hands me the car keys as soon as we get some place - my family just does not carry their own things!   It might just be easier for you to carry a comfortable backpack or tote bag so you know where everything is and you don't end up with a bunch of everyone's bags to carry around!

    Remember, too, that ALL bags need to go through a security check before entering the parks.  It is a fairly quick process, but each bag will be opened and searched and this does make it a bit more complicated with multiple bags.

    Whatever you decide, make sure somewhere in somebody's bag is sunscreen, a camera, and a rain poncho and each is tagged with your name, cell phone number, and your resort name.    Have a great time with your family!
