Taking boyfriend for his first trip in Oct. Have loads planned. Do I need to make a reservation if we have breakfast @ Kona Cafe? Want to try tonga toast. Staying off property. Also what about Beaches & Cream? Good time to walk in or always book?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Catherine!

Planning a first trip for someone to Disney World is super exciting and I'm so glad you've found us because we're hEAR to help!

You will love the Tonga Toast at Kona Cafe.  Reservations are accepted and I'd recommend making them. You may want to plan to go on a day when you're going to the Magic Kingdom. You can have breakfast at Kona Cafe and then hop aboard the Monorail to the Magic Kingdom. You can make reservations beginning 180 days from the date you plan to dine at Kona Cafe by calling 407-WDW-DINE or online at the link shown above.  One our of Panelists from last year, Emma, answered a question with helpful tips when making dining reservations from the United Kingdom that you may find of some assistance.

Beaches & Cream Soda Shop is one of my favorite places to eat.  I love the festive atmosphere and the burgers and fries!  The Kitchen Sink is over the top!  It is currently a Quick Service location and doesn't accept reservations.  We usually go around 11:00 a.m. right after they open and before it gets crowded. I never feel guilty about all the yummy ice cream I eat though because I either head to Epcot or over to BoardWalk to work it off.

Please feel free to visit with all your questions.  Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison
