We are taking our almost 2 year old to Disney for our first Disney trip! Our plane lands at 9 a.m. on the first day of our five day trip and I have no idea how to schedule to maximize our pass for that day and minimize over doing it with the LO. Thanks!

    Hi Jaclyn,

How exciting to be planning your first trip to Walt Disney World with your little one! I am glad that you are thinking about how to use the Disney FastPass+ system to minimize your wait for some attractions. As you may know, you can choose three attractions per day ahead of time using the system, and once you have used those, you can make more selections from within the theme park.

Assuming that you are flying in to Orlando International Airport, I would allow yourself about 90 minutes from the time your plane lands until you arrive at Walt Disney World resort. If you are taking advantage of Disney's Magical Express service, you will be taken to your resort hotel. From there, you could take transportation to any of the theme parks. If you rent a car, you would also have the option of driving right to a theme park or heading to your resort hotel first. In either case, I think the earliest that you would reasonably be able to make it to a theme park and make a Disney FastPass+ time is likely late morning, so perhaps scheduling your first selection for a window of 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. would work well.

Especially since you mentioned not wanting to overdo it, I do encourage you to think about your little one's regular daily schedule when planning. My daughter took an afternoon nap all the way through preschool, so in those years, if we were going to arrive at Walt Disney World in the late morning, I might choose to schedule a lunch at my resort, let her have a little down time to rest, and then head to a theme park and start scheduling Disney FastPass+ selections in the mid to late afternoon. It is all about your child and what will make him or her happy!

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Jaclyn. Please do let us know if you have any further questions!
