Hi Valerie,
Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!
You are noticing the differences between
Disney's Beach Club Resort, which offers traditional resort hotel rooms, and
Disney's Beach Club Villas, which offers deluxe studios as well as villa-style accommodations. Disney's Beach Club Villas, in addition to being a Deluxe Villa Resort, are also part of
Disney Vacation Club, which is Disney's vacation ownership program. Even if you are not a member of Disney Vacation Club, you can often book villas at Disney's Beach Club Villas using a traditional payment method such as a credit card.
Disney's Beach Club Resort and Disney's Beach Club Villas are in the same location and share amenities such as the amazing Stormalong Bay pool area, dining locations, marina, bus stop, and so on. The main differences that you will notice are in your accommodations.
As you point out, a one-bedroom villa will be larger than a traditional hotel room. One-bedroom and larger villas also include a full kitchen including dishwasher, and a washer and dryer. My family loves these comforts of home, as they allow us to prepare some meals in our villa. We also use the washer and dryer often as it allows us the ability to pack less as we do laundry on our vacations.
Whichever you choose, you are in a great location to walk to Epcot. In September, do be sure to check out the
Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, an amazing celebration of international culinary delights!
Please do let us know if you have any further questions, Valerie!
